Structured support is a psychosocial approach recommended in the UK Clinical Guidelines for Alcohol Treatment. It is a planned intervention grounded in clinical formulation. It focuses on core elements common to effective psychosocial interventions for addiction problems. Key components include building a strong therapeutic relationship, collaborative goal setting, supporting behavioural change and alternative rewarding activities, strengthening recovery‑supportive social networks, and developing coping skills and confidence to support recovery.
We help services strengthen the quality and consistency of psychosocial care by supporting recovery workers to deliver structured, evidence-based interventions within routine sessions.
